SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER (San Francisco)

Humble Bundle is seeking an outstanding full-stack Senior Software Engineer with at least 4 years of full-time web development experience to join our team. Your work will immediately impact our customer base who have helped us in raising over $125M for amazing charities like the Red Cross, Child's Play, and EFF.

As part of our Engineering team, you will work on a variety of tasks, including building new features for our products, improving existing features, fixing bugs as they occur, and helping to facilitate our accounting and analytics processes. You will help build and maintain our backend (written in Python and running on Google AppEngine) as well as our frontend (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience developing websites in a team environment
  • Ability to write clean and performant code
  • Experience with databases
  • Experience with frontend development (including HTML and CSS)
  • Proficiency in both Python and JavaScript
  • The ability to both give and receive feedback as part of a code review process

Humble Bundle is hiring a Marketing Growth Manager to help grow all of our businesses especially our monthly subscription. We run a lean growth marketing team spanning advertising, email, social media, and promotional growth marketing. We need a self-motivated, technically savvy marketer who isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up and get dirty with the data (SQL or Google Analytics) or with the messaging (write an email or make content for ads).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive aggressive growth in our already massive subscription business.
  • Drive new marketing programs from ideation to deployment and constant improvement.
  • Run and analyze mutli-variate experiments in our existing marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with the creative and operations teams to create functionally beautiful promotions.

Experience / Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of experience in email or paid advertising.
  • 1-2+ years of experience using SQL, Google Analytics, Excel, and other analytics tools.

  • Experience in the gaming industry is a plus.

Humble Bundle is hiring a Project Manager to prioritize, track and ship high quality experiences to our customers on time. The Project Manager will collaborate with product managers, engineers and a wide range of stakeholders including marketing, business development, design, operations and customer support.

The Project Manager will work closely with product managers and engineers to hit deadlines and enable smooth and timely operations. You’ll own and execute scheduling, monitoring, tracking and shipping of Humble Bundle customer facing features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help to define project scope, goals, required resources and deliverables.
  • Work closely with the product team on feature prioritization, planning and execution.
  • Track and communicate task due dates, blockers and changes.
  • Run and monitor daily stand ups with product managers and engineers.
  • Review, prepare and triage tasks for sprint planning.

  • Review specs and technical documentation for completeness and sign-off.
  • Execute launch plans, communication and quality assurance for major projects.
  • Support in-progress features and communicate needs to cross functional teams.

Experience / Requirements

  • Experience in ecommerce.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt seamlessly to new processes.
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal.
  • 2-5 years of experience in project management or an equivalent field.
  • 1-3 years of experience using JIRA, Asana or similar software development tools.
  • Experience as a JIRA administrator is a plus.

  • Assisting in the production of bundle, monthly, and store products and promotions
  • Closely monitoring product launch dates and deadlines
  • Preparing assets and content from creators, publishers, and charity partners.
  • Communicating clearly to key stakeholders - keeping them up to date on individual project progress
  • Utilizing inventory systems to organize and track materials for processing
  • Quickly adjusting to dynamic workflows and protocols
  • Collaborating with Creative and Engineering to improve current designs and workflow

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or 1-2 years of equivalent experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of Photoshop and/or Sketch experience preferred 
  • Familiarity and/or understanding of various gaming platforms
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Strong organization skills and great attention to detail
