Engineering manager (San Francisco)

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Provide supervision and mentorship to Software Engineer I and IIs

  • Organize and direct Engineering-driven projects

  • Implement process improvements for the Engineering Department

  • Meet with other departments to discuss how Engineering can help their department

  • Participate in the hiring process for Software Engineers

This position is based in San Francisco, CA and will report to the Director of Engineering.

Experience/Requirements

  • At least 5 years of total experience in software engineering and/or engineering management

  • Track record of successfully launching several large projects

  • Ability to evaluate performance of Software Engineers and provide feedback

  • Substantial experience reviewing code from other engineers

  • Experience with databases

  • Experience with frontend website development (including HTML and CSS)

Senior Software Engineer (San Francisco / Austin)

Humble Bundle is seeking an outstanding full-stack Senior Software Engineer with at least 4 years of experience developing websites in a team environment to join our team. As part of our Engineering team, you will work on a variety of tasks, including building new features for our products, improving existing features, fixing bugs as they occur, and helping to facilitate our accounting and analytics processes. You will help build and maintain our backend (written in Python and running on Google AppEngine) as well as our frontend (HTML/CSS/JavaScript). We are looking for candidates who can work from our San Francisco office or remotely out of Austin, TX area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase awareness and interest in Humble Publishing titles, that results in demonstrable results (such as increased digital store wishlists and sales)

  • Add depth and variety to Humble’s marketing playbook

  • Plan and execute streamer and press outreach plans for titles

Our Support Ninjas love to play games and are passionate about solving problems and helping people in general. As the front line of Humble Bundle’s communication with the community, they spend their days talking to customers, identifying bugs, and collecting data that will be used directly to improve the products.

Ninjas are responsible for responding to all incoming customer queries via our help desk and ensuring that Humble Bundle customers have possible experience. They rapidly prioritize serious issues, cross collaborate with our Engineers and Operations team to fix bugs, and are responsible for providing the highest quality customer service at all times.

This work is a Work From Home position, based in the Austin, TX area. All applicants must be in the Austin area, as travel to an office or team event may be occasionally required. This position is for an evening shift, from 3PM to 12AM. The shift will also include one weekend workday, meaning it will be scheduled either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to support tickets submitted by our customers

  • Troubleshoot issues to help diagnose problems

  • Coordinate internally with other teams to provide feedback on the product

  • Assess and communicate bugs/issues encountered by our customers

Experience / Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
